Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026. Last updated September 30, 2026 (added embedded YouTube videos).
This Privacy Policy explains how Ring Media Group LLC, the owner and operator of Quarterback City (quarterbackcity.com, “we,” “us”), handles information when you visit this website. Quarterback City is an independent, informational fan site about quarterbacks from Shreveport, Louisiana.
Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account. We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us — by signing up for updates, nominating a player, voting in a fan poll or emailing us — as described below. We do not sell the information you submit.
Forms, sign-ups and fan votes
- Hall of Greats updates sign-up: your email address and, if you choose, your first name and ZIP code, plus the page you signed up from and your consent. We use this only to email you news about Quarterback City and the QB City Hall of Greats. Every email will include a way to unsubscribe, or you can ask us to remove you at any time.
- Player nominations: the player details you enter (name, position, high school, years, later career, source link and your reasons) and, if you choose, your name and email so we can follow up. Nominations are reviewed before anything is published, and we never publish your name or email.
- Fan vote: only the quarterback you pick and the time of the vote; the vote is not linked to your name or email. To limit repeat voting, your browser's local storage remembers that you voted. Anyone can see the combined vote totals.
Form submissions are stored with our website and database provider, Base44, which processes them on our behalf, along with the standard technical data described below. Access to sign-ups and nominations is limited to site administrators. We keep sign-ups until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, nominations for as long as they are useful for our research, and vote records for as long as the poll runs. To see, correct or delete what you submitted, use the contact details on our About page. Share buttons on player pages are plain links; they load nothing from social networks until you click one.
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Base44) automatically processes standard technical information when pages are requested — such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the time of the request — to deliver the site, keep it secure and understand overall traffic.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site's own pages do not require cookies to work. Our hosting platform, YouTube (only after you click to play a video) and the advertising and measurement services described below may set cookies or use similar technologies (such as local storage, pixels or device identifiers).
Advertising and Google AdSense
We may show ads served by Google AdSense and other third-party vendors to help cover the costs of running this site. When ads are shown:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (My Ad Center). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Learn more about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and about how Google uses cookies in advertising.
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your browsing. We do not use ad personalization for audiences we know to be under 13, and we do not pass personally identifiable information to Google.
Ad partners and the technologies they use
Google is the ad network we work with. When ads are served, Google and other ad technology vendors it works with may place and read cookies on your browser, and may use web beacons, IP addresses and device identifiers, to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance and prevent fraud. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland can see and control each of these vendors in the consent message; the vendors Google commonly works with are listed in Google's ad technology partners list. Many of these vendors also offer their own opt-outs through aboutads.info. For details on Google's practices, see How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps.
Your consent choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from Google (a certified consent management platform using the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework) asks for your choices before personalized ads or related cookies are used. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time with the Privacy and cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Where U.S. state privacy laws apply, you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising through the choices shown on the site, through Google Ads Settings, or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how ads and some features work, but all content on this site remains readable without them.
Embedded videos (YouTube)
Some pages include videos hosted by YouTube, a service of Google LLC. To protect your privacy, videos are not loaded until you click to play: before that, you see only a preview image stored on our own site, and no information is sent to YouTube. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When you click play, your browser connects to YouTube and Google, which receive your IP address, device and browser information and the page you are on, and may set cookies or use local storage — including for playback, analytics and, if you are signed in to Google, linking the view to your account. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and YouTube's Terms of Service. Each video belongs to the channel credited beneath it; Quarterback City does not control their content and is not affiliated with those channels. Where a consent message is shown (for example in the EEA or UK), YouTube embeds fall under third-party media, and nothing loads until you choose to play a video.
Links to other sites
We link to sources such as Wikipedia, Pro-Football-Reference, the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, news outlets and Wikimedia Commons. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Union), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. Beyond the form submissions described above and any emails you send us, we do not hold personal information, so most other requests are handled through the ad-settings and cookie controls above. To access, correct or delete your submissions, or for anything else, use the contact details on our About page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes, for example when advertising is turned on. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
